catching up with an old friend.

friends come and go, we grew up learning on this phrase. but only certain ppl in your life will make an impact, who was there, who helped you along the way, who you shared the joy, the fun, laughter and the troubles in either one’s life. I let too many such ppl walk away from my life, i think. Time fly us by more than anything in this world. To think, i have graduated from secondary school for a good 5 years. Many things has changed since then. And so, yesterday, i met up with miss xie. It was a random dinner plan. We talked, talked and talked. Before the dinner, i had second thoughts about meeting up with her, thinking that things will be awkward based on the fact that the last meal we shared was in secondary 4. Yes, we laughed about the fact that it took us 6 years to start catching up with each other, and i guess it’s probably that don is not an issue between us anymore. We could even talk about don openly without having the intention to hurt each other. And it was good to meet up with an old friend, the person i used to call my best friend, the person who i always felt in-debt to, the feeling felt so familiar, warmth. Things were the same, we talked non-stop, reminiscing about the past, gossip about secondary school mates, about the older of the 10 brothers who married a china woman, about how we are doing now, about boys, about life, and i’m loving such catching up. To be able to put down everything and talk freely, not being childish and taking things as adults was probably the day we were looking forward to, and we did. Almost 9 years of knowing each other, 5 years not talking, tell me can time pass any faster?

Glad both of us enjoyed the catching up, looking forward to more catching up, this time, with jon too.
And it’s silly that both of us gave up this friendship because of a guy, and both of us know it deep down. But still, expensive but good lesson learnt.
And so, my thursday was good i say.
